Elyse has been sharing her passion for all things health, fitness and wellness since 2013. Based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, she is a certified CanFit Pro Fitness Instructor Specialist, NTY Yoga & Fuse teacher with over 250 hours of training in Vinyasa, Yang/Yin and Yoga Fusion, Level 2 IBBFA Barre instructor, NTY Box Fusion instructor, trained dancer and graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. She is grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from experienced and inspiring industry professionals in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Halifax.
Elyse takes pride in carefully crafting unique movement, stretching and mindfulness programs to ensure that you experience a well-balanced, effective and enjoyable break that leaves you feeling empowered and refreshed. Her goal is to radiate positive energy and promote self love by inspiring you to be the best version of yourself! Fun Fact: Elyse is so passionate about teaching that she audibly cues Sun Salutions while she is asleep!
Janine has worked in the wellness industry since 2016, sharing her love of movement, yoga and dance. Based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, she is a certified CanFit Pro Fitness Instructor Specialist, certified Yoga teacher who has completed over 350 hours of training in Vinyasa, Prenatal Yoga and Trauma-Aware Yoga, and has extensive training and experience leading various styles of meditation and breath-work. She has worn many hats in her role while leading members from all over the world through breaks involving various forms of movement, stretching and mindfulness.
Janine is inspired to connect people through movement. She is committed to empowering others to listen to their bodies through inclusive, mindful, and playful instruction. Her teaching style is fun, relaxed, and often accompanied by an awesome playlist leaving you feeling uplifted. When Janine isn’t teaching Bright Breaks you’ll find her out enjoying nature, traveling, or enjoying time with her friends and family. Join her for an energizing dance party in a Dance Fit or Move & Groove break or allow her to guide you into a state of bliss with an Affirmation Meditation or Spinal Release break.
Fun Fact: Janine is a volunteer doula in her community!
Grace is a Professional Dietitian (candidate) living in Halifax, NS. She graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition with a Major in Dietetics and Minor in Chemistry. Grace also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Francis Xavier University. Her nutrition passions lie in educating others on how to incorporate nutrient-dense ingredients to meals and snacks, and eating to fuel the body for everyday life.
Kendra has been sharing her passion for movement and wellness since 2014. Based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, she is a certified Yoga teacher who has completed over 800 hours of training in Hatha, Vinyasa, Meditation and Trauma-Informed Yoga, a Level 1 Hypopressive Breathing Instructor, and a former varsity athlete and graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Psychology.
As an educator, Kendra's objective is to make the practices of movement, breath work, meditation and mindfulness approachable to everyone and evolve the way self-care is interpreted and applied by creating inclusive, fun and relaxing learning environments. When not leading and crafting breaks she can be found organizing community events around food and movement to support local and national mutual aid funds, with her nose in a book, or looking for a quiet beach break! She looks forward to offering you and your body some TLC with her Hand Mobility or Feet Release stretching breaks or help you feel grounded and focused with a Brain Reset or Breathwork for Focus break.
Fun Fact: Kendra performed ""Hopefully Devoted to You"" from Grease (poodle skirt included!) in a grade 3 talent show.
Tracy's love for movement began in the dance world as a professional dancer, teacher and choreorapher. Her passion for movement evolved into the fitness and wellness industry at the height of the dance aerobics craze in the 90's and propelled her into developing her skills as an instructor, trainer and presenter. Based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, she has extensive training and experience in fitness, yoga, meditation and all forms of dance. She has been able to share her love of movement and wellness through many unique opportunities including wellness retreats and as the Creative Director and Fitness Chair for several non profit organizations.
Tracy is honoured to have the opportunity to hold space and guide members like you through various Bright Breaks. She faciliates safe, effective and fun breaks that help inspire people to carve out time for themselves. Expect Tracy to bring the heat with a fiery Booty Burn or Stress Buster break or help you unwind with a 7-Minute Stretch or Neck & Shoulders Reset break.
Fun Fact: Tracy was part of an event where she ended up being one of Paula Abdul's back-up dancers!
Heatheranne has been working in the fitness industry for over 25 years and has been heavily inspired and influenced by her background in dance and sports. Based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, she is a certified CanFit Pro Fitness Instructor Specialist and Personal Training Specialist, YIT yoga teacher with over 200 hours of training and holds certifications in Zumba, POUND and Reebok Spin. She believes that a healthy lifestyle encompasses all elements of well-being including getting enough sleep, eating nutritious foods, daily movement and lowering stress levels.
Heatheranne loves helping others discover and experience what their bodies are truly capable with just a bit of time, effort and intention. Her goal is to help you achieve a happy and well-balanced lifestyle that will minimize the risk of future health-related issues. Her philosophy is ""when you feel good, you excel in life"". Lift your spirits and move your body in a 7-Minute Movement or Chair Core break or slow things down with a Wrist Reset or 7-Minute Stretch break.
Fun Fact: On the weekends, Heatheranne trades her leggings and sneakers for a chainsaw and work boots and works in the woods!
Nalin has been cultivating and building his personal yoga practice for the last 15 years. Based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, he is a certified yoga teacher with over 585 hours of training in Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Restorative and Prenatal Yoga in addition to a wealth of knowledge and experience in various meditation and breathwork techniques and holds a Master's Degree in Marketing and Operations.
Nalin has gained knowledge of traditional Yoga from the schools in the Himalayas, India. After exploring different avenues in life from engineering to sales, Nalin finally met his calling to become a teacher and spiritual guide. He believes that the power of intentional, lived experiences can change people's lives in the most meaningful way. Experience the gift of being led into a state of tranquility in a Guided Meditation or Breathwork for Stress Relief meditation or mindfully move your body and release tension in a Sitting Fix or Shoulder Release break.
Fun Fact: Nalin enjoys swimming and taking dips in the ocean, lakes and rivers both in beautiful BC and back home in India!
Katie has been teaching and sharing her love of meditation, breathwork, yoga and movement since 2017 in addition to cultivating her own regular practice since 2011. Based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, she is a certified yoga teacher who has completed over 640 hours of training in Ashtanga/Vinyasa, Pranayama, Yoga Anatomy and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. Most of her training was completed in Goa, India with continued education being completed in Canada.
Katie has a background in dance and loves to keep things fluid and exciting in her breaks. She's also fascinated with anatomy and how the human body moves, so you can expect to learn something new in the breaks that she facilitates. Take some to tend to the needs of your back and hips with a Chair Stretch or Happy Hips break or let go of your work day with a Calming Stretch break or Work Day Release meditation break.
Fun Fact: Katie is the happiest and feels the most alive when she is exploring the great outdoors so you can expect her mindfulness breaks to be heavily influenced by nature.
Jackie has been working in the fitness industry for well over a decade. When it came to choosing a career path, it was a natural choice for her as she loves to inspire people to overcome physical and mental barriers through movement. Based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Jackie is a certified CanFit Pro Fitness Instructor Specialist and Personal Training Specialist, has completed over 200 hours of training in Hatha Yoga and holds certifications in Chair Yoga, Zumba Strong and indoor cycling.
Jackie's mission is to help you carve out time for yourself and empower you to be your very best. Her teaching style draws you in with an infectious intensity so be prepared to put in some work! She is always striving to inspire others to push beyond their self-imposed boundaries that may be limiting them from experiencing the immense benefits of movement and mindfulness. Feel the burn in her Squat Challenge or Cardio Core break or relax and allow your tension to melt away with a Serenity Stretch or Mindful Neck Release break.
Fun Fact: Jackie's least favourite food are bananas. Her favourite post workout fuel is anything with peanut butter (and definitely no bananas!)
